  • LaKyoto
    LaKyoto

    #SSESpotlight #LaKyoto

LaKyoto, formed whilst we were all studying popular music at Edinburgh College. A shared passion for pop and rock music brought us together, coupled with a strong desire to perform live. Each member of the band possesses varying levels of a Degree in Popular Music, ranging from Higher National Diplomas to full Degrees. Studying music in this manner has proven to be invaluable to the growth of the band, including the technical and business aspects of the music industry.

We are most passionate about performing our own music live. We have worked tirelessly over the last couple of years to perfect our live show, and we care about the presentation and audience’s enjoyment. Studying music, we have become technically proficient in our respective instruments, and dedicated practise regimes have allowed us to realise our full potential as instrumentalists. Hours of dedicated work goes into composition and the overall live presentation of the band, and we ensured that all of our songs were perfected before the launching the band.

We realise how high a work ethic we must sustain, and we believe that continuing in the manner in which we have started will allow us to grow as artists and play in larger venues to an ever-increasing international fan base. We have seen the results of such a committed work ethic, with our original compositions being picked up by the BBC in a live and digital setting, as well as our song featuring in Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea: South Of France last year. This provided us with a platform to enter into a managerial agreement. We have also seen regular airplay on Scottish music radio shows run by Jim Gellatly, amongst other presenters around the UK. Our previous singles also received international airplay, namely around Europe and as far as South America. These statistics are proven by the wide reach of international followers we have built on our Spotify page.

Established in 2014 to help emerging artists succeed in the music industry The Famous Company grew into the largest artist development company in the UK - but with growth, came change. As we got bigger we realised that we could do more to support not just artists but also managers and independent labels as they face the countless challenges and demands of life in the music industry. We’ve got the people in place to turn your vision into a project that really works for you. Our award-winning team of industry leading creatives includes graphic designers, photographers and videographers. We are experienced in branding and conceptual design and have individuals in place to help you maximise on press exposure, PR opportunities, touring and plugging campaigns.
